Satoshi Ito was born in 1968 in Mie prefercture, Japan. He recieved his B. Eng. and M. Eng. degrees in Information Engineering from Nagoya University in 1991 and 1993, respectively. From 1994 to 1996, he was a technical staff at the Laboratory for Bio-Mimetic Control Systems, Bio-Mimetic Control Research Center (RIKEN) and from 1997 to 1999, a researcher at the same laboratory. In 1999, he recieved his Dr. Eng. degree from Nagoya University. From 1999 to 2004, he was a research associate on the faculty of Engineering, Gifu University and from 2004 to 2015, he was an associate professor. He is now a professsor on the faculty of Engineering, Gifu University.
