Image processing based on standard regularization

Human visual processing consists of many steps. Among them, the early vision is supposed to contain the parallel operations and is sometimes explained the standard regularization theory. This study regards the early vision processes as one of the «a herf=”http://www.mcs.mech.gifu-u.ac.jp/~satoshi/themes_en/ADS.html” > autonomous decentralized system </a>, and explain the principle of the processing as a minimization process of a potential functional based on the standard regularization theory. The auto-associative memory and the figure-ground separation in random-dot animation are taken as examples.
